Cessna are currently assessing the Hound to see if any damage was sustained following last weekend. We may not know the outcome until next week which means we may only have the Fox for the coming weekend. If that is the case, we will be wheels up at 8 amboth days and will alternate punter and tandem lifts to make sure everyone gets their jumps in. As soon as we know the outcome, we will post it here. Thanks. |

On Friday 19th September, the APA will be running a night jump program. It is open to all APA members with B Licence and above. The brief (mandatory) will be held at 7pm in Classroom 1. If it is your first night jump, you will do a solo exit from 3,500ft.For your second jump, you can jump from max altitude, in formation (if you wish). It is normal that there is scope to complete two jumps in an evening, but obviously no guarantee. As usual, weather conditions dictate what we can accomplish during the evening. The cost is £30 per jump for civilian members and £20 for military. Cylume (glowing night sticks) will be provided. There is no need to register, please just arrive on Friday if you wish to jump. APA membership is mandatory.

The Joint Services Parachute Centre and The Army Parachute Association will be running two one-week courses to prepare individuals for the BPA CSBI courses to be held at Netheravon in February 2009. The preparation course dates are 20-24 October and 19-23January 2009. The aim of the course is to assist all CSBI candidtaes with lesson preparation and parachute instructor teaching techniques (both classroom and practical). We hope to ensure candidates become fully conversant with Netheravon Lesson Plans, and The BPA (British Parachute Association) Operations Manual. The courses will be fairly informal in their structure, and will address the subjects most appropriate for those who attend. No registration is required, but given the fairly substantial amountof pre-requisite knowledge, we hope you will have expressed an interest to us, prior to the event! Military and Civilain are welcome. No charge.

Block out your diaries for 10-17 January for next year's APA ski trip. We will be going to Val Thorens, staying in 4/5 person Self Catering Appartments. Unlike this year however, the APA will not be making any transport arrangements. It proved difficult as people had such varying requirements. Equally, sending the APA minibus on such an epic road journey is not a risk I would like to take twice (and those on the bus know what I mean!!). Therefore, The APA's role will be to book appartments, all in the same block, and then APA members reserve (and pay) through the office. We will also identify a couple of flights we recommend, so that members can travel together, and possibly get some benefit from group discount when hiring airporttransfer services to theresort. We will also provide a link to get a reduced price ski pass and skis.We are gathering all the details at the moment and will publish them here soon. |
