It’s always good to have back-up in life; someone to help when things are not going quite as they should.  The recent space walk by Major Tim Peake on the International Space Station brought home the advantage of having a second person to help you through when you’re in a tight spot.  Tim had to finish the job in hand when his colleague had a problem with his own space suit!  Not something you want to happen when you’re that far from home!

Whilst we’re not quite as high as Major Tim here at Netheravon, we do pride ourselves on having some of the best back up anywhere!

It definitely takes two to tandem here at Skydive Netheravon  and we can boast some of the best military instructors in the country, meaning that whether it’s your first skydive or you’re an experienced jumper the back-up you have is second to none!

For the first time Tandem jumper, you get to know your instructor and all about his parachute long before you leave the ground!  This of course means that, by the time you get to jump out of that aircraft at 13,500’ you are excited and confident that you are going to have the best ride ever!  That experience never fails to please, which is shown by the amount of people coming back to have a second go!

Many of our fun jumpers end up coming back to take a real skydiving course and are now jumping solo – how much more confidence can you have than being able to jump on your own from an aircraft?  The best thing of all though is that every time a skydiver jumps they have the complete back-up of a team of experienced people who will make sure that each ride is as good as the last.

So just like Major Tim, here at Netheravon, it definitely takes two to tandem!

  • “I had a truly awesome experience yesterday, in every way.  I was absolutely terrified but felt totally invincible afterwards and I even fell in love with your cameraman, Mike!  Cam was lovely too and if I decide to do it again it would have to be with him.  It was all very professional, from start to finish. They were a great bunch and I will recommend this to anyone and everyone.  I jumped for the MS Trust and secured £723 in sponsorship so far with promises of more to come.  It is great to feel alive again.”

  • "First charity tandem skydive done here last Saturday. Despite being extremely scared, the instructors made me feel completely at ease and in safe hands. Highly recommend anyone doing a jump, to do it here. Would definitely consider doing another skydive off the back of this experience despite my fear of heights and flying. Brilliant day and life experience. Thank you."
