Outside the Comfort Zone?

Almost everyone today seems to have their own 'bucket' list. But how many of us actually get around to organising each event then end up climbing the stairs at night, promising ourselves that tomorrow we really will sort it out?

We talk a lot these days about doing something 'outside our comfort zone', but what does that actually mean?  It's usually about confronting something unpleasant or doing something that scares us and that up until now we have been happy watching someone else do.

However, taking that first step is normally the hardest part!  Once you've signed up for your particular challenge the rest inevitably falls into place.  For instance try jumping out of an aircraft at 13000 ft for the first time!

Recently here at Netheravon, I bumped into an 18 year old who had just achieved his first Static Line parachute jump. To say he was still up in the clouds was an understatement! He was ecstatic, couldn't stop telling everyone what he had just done and how scared he had been beforehand.  He went right back up and did a second jump - he achieved so much that day, it was something he will always remember. Better still he is progressing towards his A licence in parachuting which means he is well on his way to becoming an experienced skydiver.

Those that finally take the plunge come away with a massive sense of achievement and more than anything a fantastic boost to their confidence - something we all need from time to time.

The saying 'A journey of a thousand miles takes just one step' is true. So if a skydive is part of your 'bucket' try taking that first step here with us at Netheravon.  Whether it’s a Tandem skydive for fun, a Static Line or Accelerated Free Fall course, our very experienced instructors will give you the confidence you need to complete your goal and possibly take it to a higher level.  Being outside our comfort zone is good for all of us and often takes us in a new direction.

So if you have been meaning to do something, now’s the time! Of course it’s even easier now as you can book your fun jump or course direct on-line. Just go to http://www.netheravon.com/learn-to-skydive/ Don’t wait a moment longer; go on line, choose your date and book your big day. The adventure starts with just one click!

  • “I had a truly awesome experience yesterday, in every way.  I was absolutely terrified but felt totally invincible afterwards and I even fell in love with your cameraman, Mike!  Cam was lovely too and if I decide to do it again it would have to be with him.  It was all very professional, from start to finish. They were a great bunch and I will recommend this to anyone and everyone.  I jumped for the MS Trust and secured £723 in sponsorship so far with promises of more to come.  It is great to feel alive again.”

  • "First charity tandem skydive done here last Saturday. Despite being extremely scared, the instructors made me feel completely at ease and in safe hands. Highly recommend anyone doing a jump, to do it here. Would definitely consider doing another skydive off the back of this experience despite my fear of heights and flying. Brilliant day and life experience. Thank you."
